Kate is a true trial lawyer with extensive experience in federal and state court litigation. While capable of handling any business dispute, Kate focuses her practice on matters concerning breach of fiduciary duties, breach of contract, tortious interference, non-competition agreements, employment-related disputes, construction law, trademark infringement, and related intellectual property concerns. Kate is passionate about her work and takes pride in fighting for what’s right and helping clients navigate their way through the justice system.
Kate’s broad-based litigation experience includes: jury trials, bench trials, temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction hearings, administrative trials, arbitrations, appellate practice before the Ohio Court of Appeals and United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit; business actions in the Delaware Court of Chancery, representation of clients in U.S. Department of Justice investigations; and practice before local government boards and agencies.

Successful Representations
- Kate successfully represented minority business owners in an action against the majority owner for self-dealing and violating the minority members’ right to access business records.
- Kate successfully represented business owners in a dissenters’ rights proceeding both at trial and on appeal before the Ohio Tenth Appellate District Court, resulting in receipt of the fair cash value of their membership interests.
- Successfully enforced the rights of LLC members in an attempted squeeze-out by managing member, resulting in the subsequent negotiation of a favorable buy-out for members.
- Kate successfully defended a corporate client against claims for breach of contract; after a full trial on the merits, the court entered a finding of no liability.
- Kate successfully defended and won numerous trials on behalf of a national corporate client, resulting in findings of no liability and dismissal of all claims.
- Kate successfully appealed an unfavorable trial verdict on behalf of corporate Defendant. After briefing and oral argument to the Ohio Fifth Appellate District, the appellate court reversed the trial verdict with instructions to enter judgment in Defendant’s favor.
- Kate successfully defended corporate client in arbitration proceedings, resulting in a finding of no liability and dismissal of all claims.
- Kate successfully represented corporate client in breach of contract and breach of warranty claims against a large electronics corporation. After a full arbitration hearing on the merits, the arbitrator entered a verdict in client’s favor.
- Successfully defended and enforced non-competition provisions in employment agreements at preliminary injunction stage of proceedings.
